Project name
School BEC Environment Club
Theme
Objective
At a Brampton K-12 school (Khosla), a teacher developed a BEC Club. In its first activity, the younger students went on an outdoor hike to observe plants and animals. They also collected rocks, which they painted. Then the young students delivered a painted rock to each of the other classes in the school and told the older students why sustainability was important to them. It must have been a fun thing to see and was a great start to the BEC Club. The next year, the students in the club were given workshops in a Brampton Public Library and were given an outdoor course in nature photography.
