Brampton Food Hub
Combat food insecurity in Brampton by building a sustainable food network and ensuring equitable access to nutritious, culturally appropriate food for all residents.
Food insecurity has been a persistent issue in Brampton. During the pandemic, the situation worsened as families lost direct access to food programs due to the closure of places of worship, schools, and community agencies. To address this ongoing issue, six local agencies collaborated to establish the Brampton Food Hub, launched on September 21, 2023. This initiative aims to create a sustainable food network in Brampton and ensure that all residents have access to nutritious, culturally appropriate food. The organizations involved in this collaboration include:
– All Peoples Church
– Basket Brigade Canada
– Bethel Outreach Community Services
– Free for All Foundation
– Punjabi Community Health Services
– Knights Table (lead organization)
